Compost Fundraiser Sales
Every year Cleanit Greenit donates compost to local community groups and organizations for their various causes.
This year, we were sadly forced to cancel our annual Compost Fundraiser event due to COVID-19.
We have set up a donation tab so you can make a monetary donation to participating groups directly on our website.
In an effort to Keep the ball rolling for compost fundraisers next year, to help our fundraiser groups this year, and to get compost out to gardeners in our community – Cleanit Greenit is selling bagged and bulk compost, with delivery or pick-up from two locations.
Fundraiser sales are held the second Saturday in May, from
9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Space is limited, so book early!

Volunteers Needed to Make Your Event a Success
Our Organic Soil™ NatureMade™ Compost will be delivered in bulk to your sales location for bagging. A minimum of 10 volunteers are needed on the day of the sale to help with shoveling and bagging. Another 2 to 3 volunteers are required to pick up and put out sandwich board signs on major roads and intersections 4 days before the sale. After the sale, they need to pick up the signs. A contact person from the group will be responsible for submitting school and community newsletter teasers, collecting and totaling presales and gathering volunteers.
Profit will be Donated to Your Group
This is a break-even project for Organic Soil™. The profit made will be returned to the group. There is an expense amount of approx. $1,300 to $1,700 paid for by CG in advance of the sales. For example, if your group raises $3,000; $1,300 to $1,700 would be taken off and you would receive the remaining $1,700 or $1,300. The estimated funds that can be raised by your group depending on the number of bags sold are about $1,500 to $3,000 (on average). Cheques will be sent out at the end of June.
How to Promote the Sale
“Your group can help promote your sale by pre-selling to friends, family, co-workers and neighbours. Post it on Facebook/Twitter or any social media website you have access to. Cleanit Greenit will advertise the sales, print and distribute flyers, and make sandwich board signs for each sale location. But the more you advertise – the more you sell! So print out the sample flyers we provide and put them up around your sale location. You can also email them out to all your contacts!”
Since 2001, Cleanit Greenit Composting System Inc. has helped local schools and non-profit organizations in Edmonton and surrounding areas raise over $660,000 through our Compost Fundraising Program.

60% of waste going to landfills is organic and can be composted? By composting, we are able to reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and reduce greenhouse gases.
Compost can control soil-borne diseases and insects. The naturally occurring thermophilic temperatures that occur during composting destroy pathogens and weed seeds (just as in milk pasteurization).
Mixing the compost with soil will control erosion, increase soil fertility, maintain proper pH balance and promote healthy root development in plants.
